The CAP November newsletter features the release of the Routt County Climate Action Plan Collaborative 2022/23 annual report — a celebration of a year of progress toward a greener, more resilient future. The report highlights successes that have been achieved across the Climate Action Plan’s five key sectors – energy, transportation, waste, land use and economy.
“I am really proud of the work accomplished by our 65 Collaborative members this past year,” said CAP Collaborative Board Chair Gail Garey. “In addition to supporting on-the-ground projects, local community experts voluntarily invested over 1,400 hours to develop high-impact, actionable steps for implementing the Climate Action Plan – the County’s road map for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and creating a more regenerative Yampa Valley.”
This month’s ‘Getting to Know the Collaborative‘ column features CAP Community Board member Sarah Jones. Director of Social Responsibility at Steamboat Ski and Resort Corporation, Sarah has been an integral member of the CAP Collaborative since its inception. She was part of the project management team that oversaw the initial Routt County Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory and drafting of the Routt County Climate Action Plan.
She also Chairs the CAP Transportation Working Group and participates in the CAP Economy Working Group. These experiences provide a comprehensive perspective on the evolution of the CAP Collaborative which she shares in this month’s column.
