This month we are embracing the excitement of spring break season while being mindful of our travel impacts on the climate. Through a partnership with the Yampa Valley Regional Airport and The Good Traveler program, spring breakers now have an easy, affordable way to mitigate the negative effects of carbon emissions from their air travel.
Through the program, travelers can donate an amount of money that’s calculated based on the number of miles traveled. To support LOCAL carbon reduction projects, travelers can elect to donate to the Routt County Climate Action Plan Fund (housed at the Yampa Valley Community Foundation), and help fund projects like building efficiency, waste diversion and riparian habitat restoration.
As always, catch up on the latest news and actions you can take across our five priority sectors. We invite you to sign up for our newsletter if you haven’t already and share with your family and friends to keep the climate conversation going.
