Routt County Climate in Action.
Taking climate action means taking action to reduce carbon emissions as quickly as possible and taking action that builds resilience to changes that are already here and those yet to come. Reducing emissions needs to become a new cultural norm, a decision framework, where low or no-carbon solutions are sought at every juncture possible.
There are a suite of course-setting discussions underway in our community — 2023 codes, new developments, snowmelt systems, Regional Transportation Authority — and it is essential that we as a community place climate action at the center of our priorities. As the head of the World Meteorological Organization rightly states: “climate action is not a luxury, it is a must.”
